Winnie the Witch
During Week 9 we read a wonderful
Big Book together called "Winnie the Witch" by
Valerie Thomas. We enjoyed it so much that
we wrote stories about Winnie all week and
made them into Winnie the Witch books.
We even made paper bag Winnie the Witch
hand puppets. They were tricky to put together
but we all loved them!

Winnie The Witch By D.C.
Winnie the Witch lived in a black house with her black cat, Wilbur.
When Wilbur sat on a chair with his eyes open, Winnie could see
him. When Wilbur shut his eyes, Winnie could not see him, so she
sat on him!
When Wilbur was a black cat he went to sleep on the black floor.
Winnie tripped over him! Winnie put Wilbur outside in the grass.
Then Winnie tripped over him and landed in . . . a rosebush!
Winnie The Witch By M.G.
Winnie the Witch lived in a dark house. Do you want to know why?
O.K. Her house was covered in black! It was black on the outside
and the inside too! Winnie was a kind witch. Winnie the Witch's
house was as black as the night! I don't like it when it is black.
When Wilbur sat on the chair with his eyes open, Winnie could see
Wilbur, but when Wilbur closed his eyes Winnie sat on him!
One day, after a big fall, Winnie turned Wilbur into a green cat!
Winnie put Wilbur outside. Then Winnie tripped over Wilbur and did
three somersaults into a rosebush!
Then Wilbur had a red head and a yellow body, a pink and four purple
legs and Winnie could even see Wilbur when he was at the top of the
tallest tree, and the birds laughed at him!

A Story By SS
I'm bored! I have an idea. Let's build a rocket!
Do you want to go for a trip through space?
5-4-3-2-1- BLAST OFF!
Which planet do you want to go to?
The moon.
O.K. We're landing. BUMP! We've landed.
ZAP! The rocket has been zapped!
Maybe at the Space Centre there is a Rocket Parts Shop.
We've got all the parts we need.
5-4-3-2-1- BLAST OFF!
We're landing.
We've landed!
This story was written by SS, aged 6 years. He wrote it
all by himself. Well done, S!
